Sujit Sarkar is a New York based fashion, art, advertising and editorial photographer, and shuttles between New York and Kolkata to remain creatively relevant in east west fashion culture.
He graduated from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) of the State University of New York in Commercial Photography and then in Advertising & Graphic Design. He experienced New York City visually and internally, which in turn played an instrumental role in his formative stages as a photographer.
Sujit worked for the world’s largest departmental store, Macy’s in New York, as an in-house Fashion catalog photographer. His work has been published in magazines like Metropolitan Home Design , Elle Décor, Arizona Foot Hills, Femina, and for ABP Group and Times of India.
During the time spent in Kolkata , Sujit has been involved in a variety of projects and some of his Kolkata clients include: Ambuja Neotia Eco Space Business Park, City Gold Jewelers, Sri Hari Jewelers, What's Up Café & Bar, Basumati Corporation, ABP Group and Times of India. He has worked as a Special Promo Photographer in five feature films for acclaimed Film Director Goutam Ghose.
Between assignments, Sujit spends time to channel his own personal narratives into conceptual photography, his favorite genre.
